For day two of Women’s History Month I want to highlight a famous Texas woman since it’s the anniversary of Texas Independence day .
Miriam Amanda Wallace “Ma” Ferguson was an American politician who served two
non-consecutive terms as the governor of Texas, from 1925 to 1927 and 1933 to 1935. She was the first female governor of Texas and one of the first two women to be governor of any U.S. state, along with Nellie Tayloe Ross.[1]The second female governor of Texas, Ann Richards was not elected until 1991.
