Cameron County Democratic Women
The second Loteria on Sunday was hosted by the Cameron County Democratic Women. The ladies and the party are looking forward to the state convention this June! #TeamSheila #VoteSheila
CASA Brownsville
Sunday was Loteria day! The first one was a fundraiser for CASA. CASA is an organization that provides special child advocates. When I was a prosecutor in the Department of Family and protective services I really appreciated the input these advocates provided.
Valley Haven
Last week I attended a function at Valley Haven, the new emergency shelter being built in Harlingen. I was given a tour of the facility. They are making great progress and several organizations are helping turn this place into a reality. I can't wait till it opens and to volunteer some time with this nonprofit.
High School Friends & Coffee
Last Thursday I was honored by my high school friends. They hosted a wonderful coffee filled with their friends and family. Thank you so much girls- Sonia Galvan, Adriana Pena, Veronica Kortan, Bonnie Villarreal and Tammy Garza. Go big red/ Cardinal spirit never dies! #TeamSheila#VoteSheila
Friendship of Women Fundraiser
Last Wednesday I was able to attend a Friendship of Women Fundraiser. This organization does so much for individuals who have been victims of domestic or sexual violence. This fundraiser honored our men and women in blue.
