Happy International Women’s Day. I see so many wonderful posts about International Women’s Day, but let’s do more.
Do you know that the Equal Rights Amendment was to provide for the legal equality of the
sexes and prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex and yet it has never been fully ratified and added to the U.S. Constitution. For day 8 of Women’s Herstory month I want to highlight one of my heroines. She passed away before getting her wish to see the equal rights amendment become law.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg graduated from Columbia Law School. She first became known as a strong courtroom advocate for the fair treatment of women and working with the ACLU’s Women’s Rights Project.
She was appointed by President Jimmy Carter to the U.S. Court of Appeals in 1980 and appointed to the Supreme Court by President Bill Clinton in 1993. Her legacy is so much more than this.
