Attention attorneys and guardianship families. This is information we have received from the JBCC:

Greetings,

Thank you for your valuable assistance and professionalism since the inception of the JBCC’s Guardianship Registration program. We are truly thankful for all you do.

With the restoration of our online licensing system and in keeping with JBCC Rule 10.2 (a), we are requesting registrations be submitted via the online portal.

If for some reason, a guardian/proposed guardian does not have internet access, they are permitted to register manually with the paper form.

Attorneys are welcome to assist their clients with online registration or submit registrations on behalf of their clients when needed.

I’ve attached a step-by-step overview of registration instructions that include illustrations. Also, written instructions for online registrations are outlined below:

Please complete the Guardianship Registration free of charge for your ward at www.txcourts.gov/jbcc.

1. On the left-hand side of the page is a text box called “JBCC HOME” with bullet points in it. The first one is “Register a Guardianship”.
2. Click on “Register a Guardianship”.
3. Scroll down the page until you see two red boxes.
4. Click on “Register a guardianship” box to begin that process.
5. Select “Guardian” program in the pop-up box (if that box pops-up) and click “OK”.
6. Below the Mandatory Guardianship Registration title is a link in red letters that says “Register a Guardianship: click here.” – click on that link.
7. Input the requested information – this will create a login and password.
8. Click “Register” BUT CONTINUE ONTO THE NEXT FEW PAGES TO ENTER IN REQUESTED INFORMATION.
9. All fields with the “*” are required.
10.Fill in the information on each page. (Including the cause number and qualification date if you have one).
11.Click on “Next” at the bottom left of the pages. You will click the Submit Application button at the end of the third page.
12.You will receive two emails to the email listed in the initial page of information. The first is to acknowledge a profile for the Guardian was created, the second is to confirm that the registration has been received. Please ensure to check your inbox (and spam folder) for this correspondence.
13.The registration is not considered complete until it has been reviewed and approved by the JBCC staff.

If there are co-guardians, each guardian must complete a separate online registration.

Please note that we recommend using a PC and Google Chrome as your browser. Apple devices and mobile devices may not be compatible for registration.

Feel free to pass these instructions on to those needing help with online registration and please let me know should you have any questions.

Thank you in advance and stay safe.
