The first time Cancer effected me personally was when my great grandfather, Charles DeLeon was struck by it. Him and my great grandmother raised me from the age of 4. It was their values and push towards education that shaped the person I am today.
We have since lost other family to this terrible disease. It does not discriminate and can be at anyone's doorstep.
I was happy to attend last nights Dining by Design, which benefits the American Cancer Society. The tables were beautiful and the tributes were moving. I did not create a table scape, but I want to share an article about my grandfather. His lessons still hold true today and he is still my compass- love you Grandpa!
