For day 5 of Women’s History Month I want to highlight a heroine of my daughter. She even dressed up as her one Halloween.

In 1928, Amelia Earhart was the first female pilot to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. She was also the 16th woman to be issued a pilot’s license. She set many other records, wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences, and was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots. She mysteriously disappeared during a flight in 1937, and was pronounced legally dead two years later.
